Joyce Ashe Passings September 23, 2010

My Mom's dear friend, Joyce Ashe, passed away Sep. 21 from a cerebral aneurism. My Mom passed before her on Aug. 27th from Pulmonary Fibrosis. They were both avid horse woman from the La Jolla Farm days and rode with the OGs (OLD Girls) with Helen Button. Joyce came to my Mom's 80th birthday last January and had to run off to show property. She kept going like the ever-ready bunny! She had an artistic soul, like my mom. I pray that she is joined in spirit with all she loves and all who love her. My mom (Harriet Pellar) is with her on the other side! She is a soul mate of my mom's! May love and peace unite our world. May her family not mourn her loss, but rejoice in her life every day and remember her in their hearts. May the lessons she gave grow and provide strength. Mercury is still in retrograde, and this is a time of transition for many souls....
Sarito Sun Your precious Mom.... September 20, 2010

(Sent 3 weeks before she passed)
Hi Nina,

Gaga and I were talking about Harriet.
How is she really?
Did she get to go to Hawaii to see Ram Dass?

We're going to call her and take
her out to Questhaven soon.
Harriet is such a beautiful special woman...
a goddess of love and kindness.

Please tell me the truth...what is her
health condition?

Sending love and laughter to you, dear Nina.

Sarito

then after:
I only wish that we could have had a few more hours, days, months, with this great lady Harriet.
She lives deep in my heart.  I know you all must be feeling so many emotions.  To have been
blessed with such a very special mother is indeed a beautiful rare gift.
Love,
Sarito
Heng Leim Peaceful departure of a wonderous life September 20, 2010

Dear Nina,
Please accept my belated condolences with the passing of your beloved mother and dear friend.
After the passing of my late wife, Ann, in 2004, I have had the fortune to visit with your parents almost once a year.
Our meetings were pleasant and joyful because we were still able to see each other but at the same time rather sad, because we knew that life at our age
was so fragile and that at any moment we could be called back to join our forefathers in the Netherworld.
Nina, I haven't seen you for more than 20 years. The last time I saw you was in New York City. I know that you now have a family and grown up children.
I hope that one of these days, God willing, I'll see you again. In the mean time I wish you and your family a Happy and Healthy life.

Nina PELLAR Le Baron Oh Harriet September 16, 2010

          Oh Harriet

Oh Harriet, a mom so dear
Thou art to me a poem so clear
You have been with us all in thick and thin
Supported with love even though things looked grim.

Ever in love with Dad has been your beginning
He called you his “Cupcake” and he your “Machoo”
Good times in Chicago with Chippers and seasoning
Hard work raising 3 girls plus Dad’s bookkeeping too!

Always looking fabulous from resale couture
You reminded many of Grace Kelly in style
Almost like royalty without the pomp and demure
Quiet, reserved, elegant and kind, goes a mile.

In California, La Jolla you found joy in warm air
Beach Club, Yacht Club and fabulous houses
Great neighbors we still treasure and share
Community meetings supporting many good causes.

Days were exciting planning the restaurant Su Casa
You helped Marshall every step of the way
Picking out fabrics & carpets to get it rated “A”
Employees still there after 35 years were loyal long after pay.

Friends came on our boats in many a weather
Memories of near groundings, but mostly a pleasure
Catalina was a favorite destination
Both sailing and motoring without hesitation.

Horses came into your lives after kids flew away
Then the ranch in Descanso with many a trail ride day
Doggies came next, at first borrowed from neighbors
Bear & Katie the Rottweiler came to root out favors.

As we left for college, your interests grew
To Clown Camp, fema camps and labyrinths too.
Books, tapes and VCRs you collected on various topics
from philosophy, art, health, personal growth, 9/11 and Zionists.

Parks and Open space were dear to your heart
You wrote letters to Senators right from the start
Protection for clean air and government cover-ups
UFO Society meetings and Laughlin field trips.

Thee believed in Peace and the Peace Pilgram’s walk
Thee believed in love and the power to heal
Thee believed in the Golden Rule above all others
Thee believed in friendship and walking the talk.

Moves further North to Del Mar, Solana Beach then Carlsbad
Were accompanied by the Chinese Cresteds they had
Pumpkin & Sassy were their names and they were tarts
And they managed to snuggle right into your hearts.

Grand kids came into your lives with a ball
First Cyd & Zoe, then Nicole and little Marshall
Magic tricks from Gramps really lit the way
For fun filled times that we all will remember to this day.

We will miss you Harriet, dear
A wonderful mom and a “Ganz” without comparison
Eighty years of collecting poetry, art and inspiration
Your friends and family will hold your memory clear.

Claudia LaCava friend September 15, 2010

Through Nina, I had the pleasure of meeting Harriet two years ago at her home in Carlsbad. She was friendly, her conversation was engaging, and she was so elegant. She was royalty without the pomp. My heartfelt sympathy to everyone dear and near to Harriet for the empty spot in your hearts. Our thoughts are with you and your family.  She finally has the peace she so desperately wanted.
We hope you celebrate her life and that you have wonderful memories of your life with Harriet.

Sherri Pellar With love... September 15, 2010

Dear Cousins Marsha Linda and Nina, Harriet was an extraordinary woman, and I am so glad she was your Mom! I have many fond memories of being at your house as a child, with both your parents, and of course the three of you. Growing up, I knew how much my parents, both, loved and respected, Marshall and Harriet. And now they are all reunited and at peace, for an eternity....together.
Ellie Flavell So Sorry September 15, 2010

Thank you for sending me the note about your mother.  I was very sorry to hear of it.  Both at Westtown and and reunions recently I have enjoyed and appreciated her warmth, openness, quiet pleasure in things.  I  will miss knowing she is with us.    I can easily imagine her quoting the poems on the card.  She exemplified all those good qualities.  My thoughts are with you, Ellie Flavell
George & Angela Jacobi Friends September 13, 2010

There are many things I will remember about Harriet and Marshall. Harriet had the most beautiful blue eyes. She saw the world in a positive way and conducted her life to promote what was positive. She was a dear, dear friend since 1961. Marshall had a sense of humor not to be matched. The love they had for each other was also a very deep commitment. I know they are happy being together again. Blessed are the givers in this life and they gave us many wonderful memories and creeds to live by. Much love to their children Nina, Linda, and Marsha.

Carol Ann Lindsay A Farewell Poem September 10, 2010

             A Farewell Poem
             by Carol Ann Lindsay
    In Memory of Harriet Pellar
    January 18, 1930-August 27, 2010

She had no desire for tears to be shed,
Nor phony words and phrases be said,
At a grandiose service which can be quite dull,
When presented by strangers, just bellowing bull.

But since she had offered our world with a touch
Of love that renews our souls with so much,
We became heirs of creation and this -
A true, loyal friend whom we surely shall miss.

We all can embrace the soft soul we knew,
Who fathomed the love inside me and you,
And offered great joy through her smile too,
While showing us all there is good we can do.

We all felt her spirit in sparkling, soft eyes,
That breathed with good living inside the sunrise,
As she was creator who met morning's hush
By stroking our lives without any fake mush.

We all know the kindness that came with her smile,
As she hiked the same path along a life mile,
While showing affection with her sweet wink,
When saying our names inscribed with kind ink.

And now as she flies into space far above,
She offers advice that comes with great love,
To fully taste life or she will come back,
To haunt those who don't, with a big happy whack.

        Goodbye Harriet

      Until we meet again
